About this collection
Artis, meaning increase or rising in Turkish, begins each pattern with the same base. New patterns emerge by adding scaled or offset layers of the original in the same or contrasting colours, creating either an additive or subtractive effect. For artistic presentation, I prefer the appearance of this pattern when rotated, and since some patterns are more minimal, I don't present them cropped with a wide margin like most of my patterns when displayed. In this fourth iteration of the collection, I restricted the colours to black and white, rebuilt some layers using circle blocks instead of square blocks, and occasionally added new layers of circles or lines to further alter the original pattern.
