Flare and Flow, 2013-07-04-0256
One 4th July, I decided to try using my relatively new Static and Motion skills on fireworks. I was instantly hooked. As in, the first picture I took made the final edit. That instant of an instant.
Flare and Flow, however, is quite different from my Static and Motion nature photography. The subject is man-made, highly dynamic, and very loud. If Static and Motion is an awkward, slow dance with nature, capturing the Flare and Flow fireworks is like being in the middle of a mosh pit of glitter-laden drag queens. Need I remind myself, and maybe I do, when I pull my straining eye from the viewport, I'm just a bloke waving his camera around at the night sky. Don't mind me over here, folks. Enjoy your fireworks.
All of these are single-exposure photographs, with Photoshop only being used to remove dust spots.
