Collection description
In Pulse and Impression, the structure and details of nature take a back seat while I try to bring its life and movement to the fore.
The first step is learning how to capture what feels like a direction or maybe a rhythm of a plant or tree. Sometimes the subject is moving with the wind, and other times I'm moving and adjusting the camera and lens to try to capture what I can only explain as gesturesÑhow it's either reaching for the sky or asking where the light is. Weird, I know. At least I don't put googly eyes on plants. The next step is to perform simple black and white editing to achieve the contrastive effect needed to isolate this movement.
